ALSATIAN DOGS

Sir, —The attack by an Alsatian clog on Mrs. Tallentire at Panmure reminds us that an Alsatian Dogs Bill, providing for the ultimate extinction of these beasts in New Zealand, was discussed extensively in both Houses of Parliament during the last session. As far as 1 can ascertain the bill was quietly dropped after the (irst flush of spirited controversy had. died down. In view of this further evidence of savagery the sooner this bill is passed and becomes the law of the country the better it will be for everybody. We have hoard enough of their being described as " German shepherd dogs," " Friends of the children," etc.
