EXCURSIONS AND PICNICS HEAVIER TRAFFIC THIS YEAR [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] TAURANGA. Friday Several excursions to Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are being arranged this month by the Railway Department. It is intended to run an excursion from Auckland on January 19, returning the following day. Thq Hamilton combined bands will hold a picnic at the Mount on January 20. The Frankton railway employees' picnic has been fixed for January 27, and an excursion from Taneatua to the Mount has been arranged for Anniversary Day, January 29. There has been a heavy exodus of visitors from Tauranga and the Mount in the past day or two. Many more are still arriving, and the holiday traffic has been much heavier this year than it was 12 months ago.
