NEW GOVERNOR APPOINTED MOVE TOWARD CHEAPER MONEY (Received January 3. 9.15 p.m.) PARIS. Jan. 2 M. Jean Tannery, a Treasury official, Succeeds M. Moret as governor of the Bank of France. The appointment is regarded as indicating a change in the existing credit restriction policy and a move toward cheaper money. The news has had a stimulating effect on the Bourse.
