DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE
NORTHCOTE AMATEURS The Northcote Amateur Dramatic Society last evening gave a performance of the modern three-act play "The King's Choice" (Scobie Cornish), in the King's Theatre, the proceeds to be donated to the funds of St. John the Baptist Church. The producer was Mr. Les Watson, who took the role of the Grand Duke of Montania, the other characters being taken by Mrs. P. Minns, as Queen Dowager; Miss Elsie Roberts, as Countess Rosenkoff; Miss Nellie Healey, as Duchess of Gravanonia; Miss foggy Honan, as Lady Irma; Miss Joyce Minns, as Princess Elena of Bucharest; Miss Joyce Smith, as Lady Sylvia Annersley; Miss J. Minns, as Mrs. Tippett: Mr. A. D. Jeffery, as Margrave of Daria; Mr. Fred Walker, as King Marcus of Balkania; Mr. Harold Sinel, as Count Von Reichenbach; Mr. A. E. Harding, •is Earl of Annersley; with Messrs. H. Hunt, D. Culpan and R. Fagan as attendants. Orchestral selections were played by Mr. Fred Lees' operatic octette and solos were sung by Mr. T. Maguire. The beautiful frocks, striking uniforms and spectacular settings enhanced the presentation of the story of love, romance and hum6ur, and the entertainment was greatly enjoyed by the large audience. The vicar, the Bev. H- L. R. Isherwoodj conveyed thanks to Mr. Watson and the performers and to the spectators for their patronage.
