POULTRY INTERESTS
BIRKENHEAD SOCIETY At a meeting of Birkenhead poultrykeepers last night; it was decided to form the Birkenhead Poultry Society. Mr. A. E. Knowles presided, and Mr. ,T. H. Evans, Auckland meriiber of the New Zealand Poultry Board, addressed the meeting. The following officers were elected: —Chairman, Mr. A. E. Knowles; deputy-chairman, Mr. R. J. Hoy; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. O. Richards; committee, Messrs. R. C. Thomas, E. Davidson, W. Worthington and J. Adkins. Representations are to be made to the Poultry Board and the Government requesting that measures should be taken to prohibit competition in the market between chilled eggs and fresh eggs, and to compel the sale of chilled eggs- as such. ,
