COURT FEES REMITTED
PRODUCTION OF WITNESS SEQUEL TO THEFT CHARGE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday An unusual application came before Mr. Justice Herdman in chambers this morning, when Mr. Strang asked His Honor to remit the Court fees payable in connection with the action taken earlier in the Hamilton Supreme Court session to produce Frederick Owen Murch, a prisoner at Mount Eden, as a witness in a case against Henry Tod Scott. Scott was charged with breaking and entering and theft, and the defence produced Murch, who gave evidence that he committed the offence. Scott was acquitted. His Honor remarked that he had ample discretion in the matter of remitting •the fees, and he granted tho application.
