DUKE OF KENT

SPECULATION IN AUSTRALIA POSSIBLE GOVERNOR-GENERAL Considerable interest has been created in politicaj and official circles in Canberra by the suggestion contained in a press cablegram from England that the Duke of Kent had been considered as a Governor-General for one of the Dominions, and that there was still a possibility of his receiving such an appointment if his health would permit. It is pointed out that, in the ordinary course of events, the Governor-General-ship of Australia will be the first to fall vacant. Sir Isaac Isaacs will complete the usual term of office, five s'ears, at the end of next year, and the question of his successor is almost certain to be one of the subjects discussed in the highest quarters by the Prime Minister, Mr. Lyons, when he visits England in April.
