FIRE AT HAMILTON
DAMAGE TO DINING ROOMS [FROM OCR OWN correspondent] HAMILTON. Sunday A fire broke out shortly before 12 o'clock last night in a kitchen at the back of the "Marble Bar" dining rooms in Everybody's Buildings, Victoria Street. The kitchen was gutted and alight damage was done to two adjoining rooms, occupied respectively by the National Cash Register Company and Messrs. Hopkinson and Gibson. The Hamilton Fire Brigade had the flames under control within a few minutes. The proprietress of the dining rooms, Mrs. J. Hedges, stated that both stock and fittings had been considerably damaged. The building is the property of the estate of the late Dr. A. S. Brewis.
STATION HOMESTEAD BUKNED EAST COAST LANDMARK [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE. Saturday Fire destroyed the homestead on tho Avondale sheep station, one of the landmarks of the Hangaroa district. The house was owned and occupied by Mr. Henry Harm.
