FROZEN AND CHILLED SMITHFIELD QUOTATIONS (Received October 21, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 20 Following are the latest quotations for frozen and ohilled meat, with those of the previous week for comparison:—• FROZEN MUTTON

First, largo .. M/ 6to 15/G 15/6 to 16/6 •None offeriua. The weekly quotations are based oji actual sales of wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb or of quarters of beef delivered to Smithfield market and/or London stores. They are compiled by the Quotations Committee, Smithfield. To arrive at the equivalent ex ship values one farthing per pound should be deducted from the prices quoted above. Quotations given represent the average for tho week, and are not selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on offer.

LAMB MARKET EASIER SUPPLIES OF OTHER MEAT The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week:—Wethers: Weaker values are ruling owing to lack of demand. Ewes: The market is quiet bnd unchanged. Lambs: The market is rather easier owing to competition from other sources. Quotations: —Wethers, light, 4fd to 5d per lb.; heavy, 4d to 4Jd; ewes, 2jd to 3£d; lambs, twos, GJd to 7d; eights, 6Jd to 6jd; fours, to 5Jd; seconds, 6d to 6gd. The weekly report of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board states: — Lambs: The market is slightly easier. Consumption continues affected by plentiful supplies of meat of other kinds and game. Mutton: Wethers— The market is dull and slightly easier. Ewes—The market is quiet and prices unchanged. Beef: Thero is a fair demand. New Zealand porkers: The mat* ket is quiot and prices unchanged for light-weights, with heavy-weights slightly weaker. New Zealand baconers: Prices are nominal. CANTERBURY MARKETS DEMAND FOR OLD POTATOES [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH. Saturdpy A shortage of old potatoes has veloped in Aucklaud, and inquiry was received for shipment by the Wingatui, which left Lyttelton laßt night. For potatoes by yesterday's boat, £2 15s, f.0.b., sacks included, was paid. The vessel lifted 649 sacks from Timaru, and 2700 sacks from Lyttelton. The next boat is due to sail on Wednesday or Thursday. The fowl wheat market is firm at 3s 9d, f.0.b., sacks <sxtra. Thero is no inquiry for oats; which are quoted at 2s 7d, f.0.b., sack included, for A Gartons. Chaff is unchanged, but thero is little business doing. All classes of 6eeds aro unchanged. BRUCE WOOLLEN COMPANY [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Saturday The 37th annual meeting of the Bruco Woollen Company was held at Milton yesterday. The chairman, Mr. P. McSkimming, M.P., reviewing operations for the past 12 months, stated that the results showed an improvement on thoso of recent years. He added that after carefully considering the position the directors wero of opinion that the dividend on ordinary shares should bo increased to 3 per cent. The meeting endorsed this proposal.
