CAPTIVES IN CHINA
PARTY OF MISSIONARIES DEMAND FOR RANSOMS (Received October 19. 10.55 p.m.) PEKING, Oct. 19 A message to the British Legation from Yunnan states that the missionaries, Mrs. Hayinan, of Auckland, New Zealand, and Mrs. Bosshard, were, captured with their husbands on October 1. Mrs. Hayinan was subsequently released and now has arrived at Kweiyang. She brings the bandits' demand for 100,000 silver dollars ransom for each of the remaining three captives.
