CRICKET SEASON
LABOUR DAY MATCHES FIRST GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OF ONE-DAY GAMES. A series of one-day games, which will constitute the second series of matches in the first round csf the Auckland Cricket Association's first grades championship, will be decided on Monday. ? The games, commencing at 9.45 a.m., will finish at 6.30 p.m., with an interval of an hour at I p.m. for lunch. The main attraction at Kclein Park will be the meeting of Y.M.C.A. and University.- on No. 2 wicket. Both teams are reported as being strong combinations this season and a close and interesting match is anticipated. The Eden eleven will be matched with King's Old Boys on No. li wicket afc ''•den Park. There seems little to choose between the teams and another even game should be witnessed. North Shore will have a difficult proposition in facing Parnell at Devonport. In batting Parnell should have a slight advantage, but North ,Shore team is difficult to. defeat on its own ground. The remaining match in the series will be between Ponsonby and Grafton and these teams will meet on Victoria Park. A full series of games in the senior B grade competition will also be played. The annual meeting of the Kaitnia Cricket Club was held last night, when, there a fair attendance of cricket' enthusiasts. It* is anticipated that this Beason Eaitaia wiir field a strong eleven.
