NEW BRITISH COMPANY
LADY YULE A DIRECTOR Lady Yule, who visited New Zealand three or four years ago, is a director of a new company, known as British National Films, Ltd. It is said that the scheme was the direct outcome of a purely accidental meeting on Lady Yule's yacht, the Nahlin, in Bermuda this year, between Mr. John Corfield, managing director of the company, and Lady Yule, when a discussion arose as to the preponderance of American films shown in the British West Indies and the difficulties of obtaining good British films. British National Films, Ltd., announce their intention of making a series of. British pictures in London for world distribution, dealing with British themes. The policy of the company is to employ British artists and staff, almost exclusively, and it is hoped to give talented British actors and actresses an opportunity to become world stars. The programme will be announced later.
