Pinch out tops of early peas in flower; the pods will then fill up more quickly. Sow spinach and lettuce between rows of peas and celery. Keep the hoe going among growing crops. Spray apple and pear trees when two-thirds of the blossom has fallen with arsenate of lead i:or codlin moth. Peach and nectarine trees should be sprayed wilth lime sulphur, 1 in 120. Celery fly will be active. Dust young plants with soot and lime to prevent laying of eggs.
