FOUR-FRUIT JAM
Four kinds of fruits, all of which are now in season, are used for a delicious jam, which is made as follows:—Peel, core, and cut up six cooking apples; peel and slice six bananas, about half an inch thick; slice thinly four lemons; and cut up the pulp of four sweet oranges, discarding the peel. Put all this fruit in a pan with six pints of cold water, and boil for two hours. Weigh, and to each pound of fruit, add Jib. of sugar. Boil till it jellies, about three hours altogether.
