A HOME-MADE SWEET
" Pineapple Candy " is easy to make (and to eat, too!). The materials required are one teacup of finely chopped pineapple, one teacup sugar, half a teacup milk, one tablespoon orange juice, and one dessertspoon of golden syrup. Place the sugar and milk in an enamelled saucepan on the stove and stir until the sugar is melted. Then add the syrup and bring to the boil. Next, put in the pineapple and orange juice and bring the mixture to the boil again, and let it boil for 10 minutes, stirring all the time. Take the pan off the fir© and" leave to cool for five minutes, and then beat hard with a wooden spoon until the mixture begins to set. Pour on a greased tin, and wben cold cut into squares.
