POLITICAL ROMANCE
It was lately announced that Mr. Aneurin Bevan, Labour M.P. for Ebbw Vale, was to marry Miss Jenny Lee who was Labour M. P. for North Lanark from 1928 until 1931. Mr. Bevan is aged 36 and Miss Lee is 29. They had never met until they were returned to the same Parliament, and as years passed political friendship ripened into close personal attachment. They were included in a party which visited Russia in 1930. Both belong to mining families, and as a youth Mr. Bevan worked in a colliery in Wales. Miss Lee, who is now studying for the Bar, took up lecuring when she lost her seat at the 1931 election, and toured the United States.
