WEEK-END PROSPECTS GOOD UNCERTAIN FOR MONDAY The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, was as follows:—The recent depression has now passed eastward, and a moderate anti-cyclone is crossing the north Tasman Sea. The barometer is falling again over Eastern Australia. The indications are for moderate to fresh south-westerly to westerly winds predominating, veering to north-westerly later in the far south. Seas rather rough on the west coast; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Variable winds, light to moderate, south-westerly to north-westerly predominating; seas smooth to moderate. The weather will be still rather unsettled, with passing showers at times, in most districts, but gradually improving. Temperatures cold, with frosts inland in the South Island. Conditions for the week-end appear favourable, but are uncertain for Monday, especially irt the South Island. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST PASSING SHOWERS LIKELY The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last night the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province: —Light to fresh southwesterly winds. Christchurch.—The weather yesterday was dull in the morning, with some rain. The sun shone in the afternoon, when the wind changed from south-westerly to north-easterly. The maximum temperature was 49deg. The barometer, after falling, has been steady at 29.90 in. Dunedin.—The weather yesterday was again overcast and unsettled, with a light south-westerly breeze.
