SHIPPING, MAILS AND WEATHER

The Waimarino was despatched for Wellington. Picton. Lyttelton, Dunedm, Bluff, and Timaru last evening. The Port Waikato, from South Island ports, left Wellington for Auckland last evening. She is due on Monday morning. Owing to Monday being a holiday, the Port Whangarei, which is loading at Central Wharf, is now scheduled to sail tor bouthern ports at noon to-day. After loading at South Island ports the Wingatui left Lyttelton for Wellington and Auckland yesterday afternoon.. She is due at Auckland on Tuesday morning. The Vacuum Oil Company has received advice that the tanker Lacklan is due from Sumatra about November 4 with bulk petrol for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Jjjttelton and Dunedin. THE WAIKAWA The Waikawa is expected to leave Dunedm to-day for Westport to replenish her bunkers before she proceeds to Pacific Coast poits. via Suva. THE KOYO MARU The Japanese steamer Koyo Maru arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon and is at King's Wharf. The vessel will complete loading scrap metal here and she « scheduled to sail for Iwata, Japan, Thursday. THE CANADIAN CRUISER The Canadian Cruiser left Melbourne yesterday in continuation of her voyage from Montreal to Bluff, Dunedm and Lyttelton. AORANGI REPORTED The Royal Mail liner Aorangi cleared Suva yesterday en route from Auckland to Vancouver. She is due at Vancouver on November 2. THE PORT NICHOLSON The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Nicholson, which left Auckland for London. Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow on September 1, arrived at Liverpool last Wednesday. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER The Canadian Highlander is reported to have reached New York last Wednesday en route from New Zealand and Australia to Boston and Montreal. MARAMA LEAVES SYDNEY The Marama left Sydney for Auckland at 5 p.m. yesterday. The vessel is due on Tuesday morning, and she will be despatched for Sydney next Friday afternoon. THE SCHOONER HUIA The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia is to leave Melbourne early next week with explosives for Westport, Greymouth, Dunedin, Nelson, Wellington and Auckland, She is due at Westport about October 29.

RANGITANE LEAVES LONDON The New Zealand Shipping Company ha* received advice that the motor-ship Rangitane sailed from London on Thursday for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on November 21 and at Auckland on November 26. WAIWERA CLEARED SUVA In continuation of her voyage from London, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's new motor-ship Waiwera cleared Suva on Thursday for Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. She is due at Port Chalmers about Tuesday. 1 THE KALINGO The Kalingo is to sail for Gieborae at noon to-day to complete unloading cargo from Sydney and Newcastle. Afterward will proceed to Clarence River and Newcastle to load for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. REMUERA LOADING Th© New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Remuera arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon and berthed at Central Wharf to complete loading. She is scheduled to sail for London, via Panama, next Saturday morning. RANGITATA CLEARED COLON Reported to have cleared Colon on Wednesday, the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitata is en route from Auckland to London. She was despatched from Auckland on September 26. TANKER LIMNEA The tanker Limnea is due from Lyttelton at eight o'clock this evening. She will berth at Western Wharf to-morrow morning to complete unloading bulk petrol from Balik Papan for the Shell Company. After discharge she is to return to Balik Papan. THE HERTFORD The Federal Line steamer Hertford left Wellington yesterday morning for Wanganui, New Plymouth and Auckland to complete loading for London. The vessel is due at Auckland on October 29 and she is to sail for London, via Panama, on November 2. being due at London about December 12. NEW WELLINGTON BEACON The Marine Department advises that on and after October 23 a red light, flashing every second (flash o.3sec.) will be exhibited from .the new Steeple Rock beacon at an elevation of 23ft. The light will be visible from 176deg., through south, to 2S6deg. The beacon is a concrete structure, cylindrical in shape, and painted white, with a broad horizontal black band. The buoy formerly moored near the Rock has been discontinued. MONTEREY FROM SYDNEY Thu Matson Line steamer Monterey is due from Sydney at 7.30 o'clock this morning. After landing passengers and mail, and also loading cargo at Prince's Wharf, the vessel is scheduled to sail for Suva.
