MORE EFFICIENT BASIS CENTRAL ORGANISATION DAIRY INSTITUTE'S WORK [B\' TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON. Thursday Suggestions for placing tho dairy scientific service of the Dominion on a more efficient basis are made by the commission. The Dairy .Research Institute should bo made the central organisation controlling all dairy research and laboratory services financed by the State and/or the Dairy Board. It should be constituted as an incorporated body with a governing council of seven members, which would be responsible for tho research policy of the institute and would assume control of its funds. It would then be in a position to assume control of the equipment now used by it and to enter into an agreement with the Government and Massey College in respect of the use of land, buildings and stock. New service laboratories for the Auckland and Southland provinces are proposed. The institute should consult the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in the formulation of its general research policies.
