COMPOSER'S LUCKY DEAL SAVED FROM THE DUST HEAP (Received October 17, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 16 Two hundred manuscripts of forgotten melodies by Johann Strauss were rescued from the dust heap in Vienna by Dr. Wilhelm Grosz, composer of the popular dance. "Isle of Capri." He was passing a refuse lorry, into which debris from an old house was being loaded, and paid the equivalent of hatf-a-crown for a bundle of manuscripts. Dr. Grosz was utterly unaware of the real value of the manuscripts, but on examining them at home he found many in the handwriting of Strauss.
