TYPEWRITING TESTS
SPEED CONTEST RESULTS [BY TELKGRAPH—PRKSS ASSOCIATION ] DUNEDIN. Monday The results of the second annual spqpd typewriting contest held by the Association of Commercial Science of New Zealand are announced. In the senior championship the winner was Marjorie H. Jones, of Wellington, with a speed of 73.9 words a minute. The junior championship was won by Barbara C. Morrison, of Waitaki Girls' High School, with 51.0 words a minute. In the senior contest plncings were awarded down to .'iO words, and !51 passed. The leaders were:—R. V. Daniels, Auckland, 65.9; U. Council, Auckland, 60.9; P. Hodgkinson, Auckland, 59.8; L. A. Pettit, Dunedin. 59.4; F. M. Dick, Christchurch, 58.4; K. M. Cooney, Wellington, 57.9; H. Lawson, Wellington, 57.7; K. Fleming, Dunedin, 54.(3; B. D. Brackenridge, Christchurch. 51.4, In the junior sections the principal awards were: —J. Hodgson, Auckland, 54.3; E. Hooper, Auckland, 54.2; M. E. Weston, Ash burton, 52.4; T. M. Backer, Auckland, 52; J. M. Lodler, Auckland. 50.2; TT. F. Goldsmith, Auck- '' land, £io. The junior passes totalled 120.
