SEVERAL GOOD DIVIDENDS ONLY TWO FAVOURITES WIN FRANCIS LINCOLN'S VICTORY • Only two first favourites, Rayon' d'Or and War Girl, both trained by F. J. Smith, were successful at the spring meeting of the Waikato Trotting Club at Claudelands, Hamilton, on Saturday. There were some substantial! win dividends, notably those of Silver Watch, Our ' Summer and Jackie Thorpe. The last' two horses, fullbrothers, are owned and trained by W. F. Saunders, of Bruntwood, who himself drovo Our Summer to. victory. The principal event, the Mark Memorial Handicap, was won in good stylo by Francis Lincoln. A fine display of pacing was given by Impromptu, who from 108 yards behind ran second to Jackie Thorpe in tho President's Handicap. Tho weather was showery early, but cleared, and there was a good attendance. The going was holding. Totalisator investments for the seven races amounted to £9292, compared with £7128 for eight races last year, an increase of £2164.
