Tuesday Two men had a narrow escape from drowning yesterday when theii* dingLv was capsized through an anchor chain of the dredge Whakarire unexpectedly tightening under the keel of their craft. The men concerned, Messrs. F. Lloyd and V. A. Jorgenson, were heading round the dredge, intending to make for the wharf, and were just passing the front of the vessel when the bout was suddenly raised out of the ivater, - and they were thrown into the harbour. Neither of the men could swim, and as the dinghy sank immediately, their plight was precarious. A Harbour Board diver happened to be in the vicinity at the time, and both men were lifted into his boat.
