DOMINION BALL

NEW ZEALAND VISITORS The officers of the New Zealand warships H.M.S. Diomede and H.M.S. Dunedin, at present visiting Sydney, we re the guests of honour at the Dominion Ball given at the Farmers' ballroom on September 21 by the New Zealand Women's Association, to celebrate New Zealand's Dominion Day. Maori gods and Australian and New Zealand flags draped the pillars of the ballroom, and on the long official supper table was a realistic model of a Maori war canoe. The New Zealand guests included Rear-Admiral F. Burges Watsion and Mrs. Watson, Lieutenant-Commander and Mrs. T. 6. B. Winch, Miss Jean Batten, Mr. L. J. Schmitt (New Zealand Trade Commissioner) and Mrs. Schmitt, Mrs. Bryant (Wellington), Miss Annis Gale (Christchurch), and Mr. Roy Stanley (president of -the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association of New South Wales). During an interval in the dancing the "Poi Song" was sung by Madame Amy Woodward, of Wellington.
