WESTERN SUBURBS TEAM MATCH AGAINST PONSONBY The champion Rugby League club of Sydney, Western Suburbs, will play the fourth match* of its tour at Carlaw Park this afternoon against Ponsonby, and another fast and interesting match is anticipated. The majority of the Ponsonby team are young players who should benefit greatly by the experience. As the local team will be strengthened by the inclusion of Leatherbarrow, Donald and Laing, of Dcvonport, it should make a good showing against the visitors. Throughout the season Ponsonby has been noted for its open style oil play, and as Western Suburbs adopts similar tactics, a bright exhibition of the ccidc should result. To date Western Suburbs has narrowly defeated Marist, drawn with Newton and been beaten by two pcints by Richmond. Western Suburbs.—J. Sharman. Knight, S Tancred, V. Sheehan, R. Hines, V. Hey, P. Williams, A. Blake. M. Gray, J. McConxiell, F. Sponberg, J. Lynch, J. Hartwell. Ponsonby.—Jones, Kay, Laing, Sherer, Stockley (2), Riley, Keening, Halloran, Herring, Davis, Blood (2), .Donald, Hutt, Browne, Leatherbarrow. Mr. M. Welherill wilit be referee.
