SCHOOL CONCERT
TAKAPUMA GRAMMAR iPUFILS A very successful entertainment: was presented by the pupils of the Takapuna Grammar Sciiool at the annua! concert held in the Gaiety Theatre,. Takapuna, last night. The programme was a most enjoyable one and the originality of several of the items was I fully appreciated by the large audience. The singing was. particularly good. A Maori play, ''The Winning of Ronngarohia," written by a member oi: the school staff, was the outstanding The quality of the play was enhanced by appropriate Maori singing and .dancing, and prolonged applause greeted the vigorous haka performed at the conclusion of the piei'6. "Listen to the Band," a humorous fsolo and chorus item, was enthusiastically encored. Othelfr items included three selections, "Stradolla" (Flotow), "The Mill Black Forest" (Eidenbergl and "btndent Prince" (Romberg), by the isclaoo orchestra, drill by the senior girls a humorous burlesque on the "!?>•- Pretty Maiden," chorus from dora."
