AMALGAMATED THEATRES
CONVENTION OF MANAGERS A convention of theatre managers of Amalgamated Theatres (N.Z.), Limited, took place at the head office of the firm in Auckland yesterday, a representative gathering from the Auckland Province being present. Many questions were discussed concerning the future policy of the company, and matters appertaining to the welfare of the theatres were exhaustively reviewed. Mr. M. J. Moodabc, director-general of the firm, entertained some 50 members of the staff to luncheon, and in a felicitous speech, warmly welcomed them. It was his intention, he said, to arrange such conventions more frequently for exchanges of views on the company's business. Mr. Moodabc also drew attention to the rapid expansion of the firm's operations throughout Now Zealand. It could bo said with safety, he stated, that it was the largest independent organisation to-day in the Dominion. It was built up by New Zealand capital, and its success had been dud to the enterprise of tho executive, combined with the hearty co-operation and help of his managers, who had worked unceasingly to that end.
