AFFAIRS OF THE BOARD ' LOAN CONVERSION SCHEME t [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA. Tuesday In his monthly report to the Thames Valley Electric-Power Board the manager stated that the conversion loan of £426,900 had now been finalised, none of the lenders having dissented from the conversion. The conversion would take effect from October 1. The board would benefit by £36,840. The total number of consumers now connected to the board's mains was 9179, including Thames and Te Aroha boroughs 1115 and 720 respectively. The demand for new installations was being steadily maintained. The engineer, Mr. N. G. McLeod, reported that installation work had been particularly brisk during the past month, and the future prospects were very good, especially for ranges.
