VISIT TO DOMINIONS MR. S. M. BRUCE'S TRIBUTE LONDON, Sept. 38 Speaking at a farewell luncheon to Lord and Lady Baden-Powell at the Savoy Hotel, before their departure for Australia and New Zealand, Mr. S. M. Bruce, High Commissioner for Australia, said the man who had done what was worthiest and most lusting in. the v.sorld's recent history was the Chief Scout in building up the character of youth which was essential to* national permanence. Lord Baden-Powell said that, exclusive of those already trained, Boy Scouts numbered 2,269,545 and Girl Guides 1.204,869. Boy Scouts now number four times the strength of the British Armv "which is not saying much, because that is being cut down to a terrible degrees," remarked the Chief Scout.
