ATHENIAN CLUB
The hosts and hostess at the Athenian Club's evening, held in the Amateur Operatic Hall on Saturday, were Mr. and Sirs. J. Haydon and Mr. 11. Brooker. The programme was entitled "A Night in a Broadcasting Studio," with Mr. Stan Asquith as the radio announcer. The items were given by Mrs. Start Asquith, Miss Nina Scott, Miss Pat Boyle, Mr. Alan McElwain, Mr. Zante Wood and Mr. Harry Withers. Tho opening orchestral selection was given by a nigger band with a tap dance by Mr. Davies and Mr. Chilwell. Among those present were:—Mrs. C. Munro Emanuel, Mrs. A. Wilkins, Mrs. A. Jaques, Mrs. E. Nov, Mrs. C. J. Lea, Mrs. J. Dean, Mrs. W. Deverson, Mrs. Richmond Brooke, Mrs. K. Colwell, Mrs. C. Purdie, Mrs. Behague, Mrs. W. H. Jebb, Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Mrs. C.
