SCHEME AT WHANGAREI [FROM OWN CORRESPONDENT J WHANGARFJ, Saturday A very satisfactory response has beeii made to the appeal of the TV hajjgarei Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce in their efforts to provide work under the Bristol "back-to-work scheme, the toted amount promised up to to-day being £8454. Recently the Whangarei Rotary Club brought the scheme before the Chamber of Commerce, and the chamber appointed a sub-committee of six to cooperate with the Rotary Club in furthering the scheme. The proposal was launched on September 18, anc>. tha amount aimed at is £IO,OOO.
