CONFIRMATION SERVICE
ST. GEORGE'S, EPSOM An impressive service took place at St. Georg;es, Epsom, yesterday morning, when over 50 candidates, a large proportion of whom were men or youths, were confirmed hy Archbishop Averill. The church, which was beautifully decorated with spring flowers, was filled to capacity. After the confirmation a large part of the congregation, confirmees of the last 10 years, stood and renewed their baptismal and confirmation vows. In his address, the archbishop stated that Christianity was not an easy thing, and that it often meant choosing the more difficult path of life. He emphasised the words "ought," "can" and "will," and pleaded for reverence, self-effacement and service. Hie olergv present wore the Rev. H. Jecks, the Rev. S. Burrow, who acted as bishop's chaplain, and the vicar, the Rev. J. L. Litt.
