ILLNESS AT PICNIC
LEAGUE FOOTBALLEFI BROUGHT TO TOWN BY LAUNCH Taking suddenly ill while attending a League football picnic at Pine Island yesterday, Edward Thomas Mincham, aged 23, single, of 10 Ariki Street, Grey Lynn, a member of the Richmond senior team which played tho visiting Australian club team on Saturday, was taken to tho city by launch and admitted to hospital. He was attended on the island by two St. John ambulance officers. When Mincham became ill he suffered severe abdominal pains. His condition last night was stated to he fairly serious. He had also suffered an injury to tho knee in the match on Saturday.
