EDEN DISTRICT GUIDES

THE ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Eden District Combined Committees, Guides and Rangers, was held in the Methodist HaH, Kingsland, this week. Miss Beryl Knight, Auckland Divisional Commissioner, presided, and also present were Mrs. Henderson Will, the president of the Eden' District executive, and Miss Hayward, Commissioner for Eden District. Mrs. Arroll, captain of the Matai Roa Rangers, .read her report and bal-ance-sheet. In the absence of Mrs. Laird, badge convener, Mrs. Jenkins, badge secretary, gave her committee's report. The district report was read by Miss Hayward. Mrs. Henderson Will was elected president for the coming year, and a vote of tbanks was accorded MiSs Lee, the retiring district secretary, who received a bouquet and presentation. Miss Stych 'was appointed secretary iij her place. Mrs. Simmons was re-elected treasurer, Miss Marks was " appointed district captain, and Miss Crawford, district Brown Owl. It was Btated that the Ake Runga Company had been transferred to the city district as Eden district was the largest in the Auckland Division. Discussion took place upon the shop which the Auckland Division of the Girl Guide Association is taking charge of during the first week in October. Members of the ladies' committee will take alternate spells in connection with it.

At the conclusion of the business the Matai Roa Rangers entertained the assembly with an item and Miss Knight inspected the guiders and rangers.
