BREAD BOARDS
White wooden bread boards which are not specially treated periodically are inclined to develop a greyish tinge and become unattractive for table' use. Whenever possible, white wooden bread boards should be dried out of doors after washing, and not near a fire, as this encourages a bad colour as well as cracking. Thp best whitening treatment for a bread board is, to use fine sand instead of soap when scrubbing it. Afterwards scrub it in the usual way with warm soapy water. Other white wood articles, such as spoons, draining boards, and draining racks, Trill become whiter with this treatment.
