PARTY FOR MELBOURNE VISIT TO AUCKLAND A party of 11 members of the Roykl "Empire Society will arrive in Auckland from Rotorua to-morrow afternoon, on its way to the Melbourne Centenary celebrations. The visitors reached Wellington on September 18, and since then have been touring the North and South Islands. The Auckland branch of the Royal Empire Society, in conjunction with other patriotic societies, , will hold reception to the visitors at the Overseas League rooms to-morrow evening, and the ladies will be entertained to luncheon on Monday at the Lyceum Club. There will be a drive to the |g Waitakere Ranges on. Saturday, and a visit will be paid , to Rangijtoto Island « on Monday morning. , i The tourists include Lady Moore, great gran /-daughter of the founder bf Melbourne, and Mrs. Arnold Dixon, of Yorkshire, who has with her the original front door key to Captain Jaoes Cook's cottage, which was removed fo Melbourne and re-erected. PARTY AT ROTOBUA DELIGHTED WITH VISIT . [by telegraph—9sSibespokdext] ROTORUA, "Wednesday A party of membiift of the Royal Empire Society arrived at Rotorua by the mid-day train io-day. The visitors were conducted xound. Whakarewarewa by Chief Guide Bella and had th® pleasure of seeing Pohutu Geyser in action. This evening they attended a Maori concert. To-morrow they will be taken on the Government round trip. Interviewed to-day Mr. Chapman, the - leader of the party, said the tour wis an Empire one of goodwill. The party came to New Zealand Via Panama and would disband in Melbourne after the celebrations there. The visitors had already visited Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington and had been greatly impressed by the hospitality extended to them in the Dominion.'
