EIGHTY-SIXTH BIRTHDAY
One of Auckland's pioneer residents, Mrs. Harriet Scotter, of 6 Bulwer Street, Devonport, celebrated her 86th birthday yesterday. Mrs. Scotter was a daughter of Sergeant J. Warren, of the Royal Sappers ajid Miners, later known as the Royal Engineers, and was born at Albert Barracks, which stood on the site of the present Albert Park. She married Mr. W. G. Scotter. of Newmarket, in 1868. Mrs. Scotter has two daughters, Mrs. S. Dadson, of Devonport, and Mrs. J. T. Williams, of Kaitaia, and one son, the Rev. A. N. Scotter, of Palmerston North. There are 13 grandchildren.
