PIGEON FLYING RACES
NORTH AUCKLAND CLUB [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Thursday The North Auckland Homing Pigeon Club held its fifth series of yearling races from Ohakune, an airline distance of 275 miles. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster in fair weather. The following are the results:—Redmond and Son's * c h Checks, Bl9.Byds per min„ 1; J. A. Pickering's roc entry, 617.4yd5, 2; B. Parkin's b c c entry, 813 yds. 3. HIKURANGI CLUB [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Thursday The Hikurangi Homing Pigeon Club held its fourth old-bird race from Taumarunui, an airline distance of 233 miles. The weather was fair, and there was a good helning wind. The following are the results:—Mr. R. Laurie's Purity, 1421 yds per min., 1; Mr. G.
