OPENING RATES HOLD GOOD COMPETITION LONDON, Sept. 19 At the London wool sales to-day 10,551 bales were offered, including 3645 irom New Zealand, and 8732 were sold. Good Homo and Continental competition at the opening rates was maintained. New Zealand clips sold as follows: Greasy crossbred "J.M.P.," top price BJd, average BJd; slipe halfbred lambs' "Eclipse, T.H.A." 12Jd and 11 gd. « SYDNEY AUCTIONS MARKET AGAIN FIRM (Received September '2O, 8.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 20 At the Sydney.wool sales to-day 8076 bales were offera] and 6809 were sold. MELBOURNE MARKET GOOD SORTS IN DEMAND MELBOURNE, Sept. 20 At the Melbourne wool sales to-day 6550 bales were offered. There was good demand for wools showing good style, both Merino and comeback, but inferior sorts, more especially burry and faulty skirtings, were difficult to sell. The top prices paid were:—Fleece wool, 143 d; comeback, 14id.
