First round results include the following:—Hudson defeated Twine at the 20th hole;' C. Whitcombe defeated E. Hooker, 2 and 1; Easterbrook defeated Stenhouse, 2 and 1; Kenyon defeated ft. Wilson, 3 and 2; R. Whitcombe defeated Field, 5 and 3; Havers defeated Cawsey, 2 and 1; W. Martin defeated Alliss, 5 and 4; Lacey defeated E. Whitcombe at the 19th. Robson defeated G. Brown, 3 and 1; Davies defeated Hill, 5 and 3; Mitchell defeated Barton, 3 and 1; J. /Seager defeated Parry, 2 and 1; Taggart defeated Denny, 1 tip; Jarman defeated King, 6 and 5; .Bradbeer defeated Ockenden, 1 up.
