THROWN FROM HORSE
FARMER SERIOUSLY HURT FALL ON STEEP SLOPE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WAIMATE, Wednesday Thrown from a horse which bolted down a precipitous boulder-strewn slope, Mr. George Reid, a Waihao Forks farmer, dislocated a shoulder and, but for the shoulderbone pressing on a severed artery under his a no, would probably have bled to death, as two hours elapsed before he was found.
The horse soon lost its footing and rolled to the bottom of the slope where it was found later apparently unharmed, with the saddle a chain away. Mr. Reid's injuries are serious, but an operation was performed and he is progressing favourably.
