OUTRAGE AT FLOWER SHOW
Practical jokers were apparently lately at work at the Royal Lancashire Show at Bolton, Lancashire. When tho horticulture tent was opened it was found that prize groups of roses had been interfered with.
Rushes, pampas grass, tall hollyhock stems, and other unnecessary " decorations " had been placed among the roses. Being top-heavy, many of these fell and spoiled the arrangement of the prize blooms. The exhibitors were naturally indignant, as considerable time was spent in rearranging the exhibits. "It appears to be a very foolish ' joke,' if such a term can be applied," said one of them.
