TRIBUTE TO HONESTY
Alarmed because burglars broke into a neighbour's house, Mrs. StaffordMay, of Streatham, took two valuable platinum rings with her to Brooklands in her handbng. She opened the bag at the course, and, unknown to her, the rings, which wore wrapped in a piece of paper, fell out. Mrs. Stafford-May informed an official, and a short while after an announcement of her loss was made by means of loud speakers. A subsequent broadcast was worded: " The proprietors wish to congratulate patrons on their honesty. The two platinum rings, set with precious stones, which were lost, have been delivered to the clerk of the course, and it only now remains for the lady who lost them to go to his office and claim them." Mrs. Staf-ford-May was overjoyed at the recovery of her rings.
