ANNUAL AT HOME
NEW ZEALAND INSURANCE The 17th annual At Home given by the staff of the New Zealand Insurance Company was held, in the Symondsville Studio last evening, and was attended by a large number of guests. Bowls of brilliant anemones and Iceland poppies decorated the ballroom, while chandeliers of multi-coloured lights cast, an attractive glow over the dancers. The supper room was arranged with flat bowls of violets and hyacinths. On arrival the guests were received by the chairman of the ball committee, Mr. It. Pycroft, and Mrs. Pycroft, who wore a frock of black marocain patterned in rose and white. The chaperones and members of the committee present' were:—Mrs- A. I. Johns, who wore a frock of opal-beige linen lace relieved with emerald green; Mrs. T. C. Buddie, in black Chantilly lace with a sequinned cape; Mrs. Willis, »Lido blue angelskin lace; Mrs. Harold Clay, forest green lace; Miss Rona Anderson, midnight blue craquelle; Miss Molly Heard, leaf-green satin and silver lame; Thelma Lawson, black sand crepe; Miss Ena Little, geum red crepe; Miss Cecilia Owsley, ivory windswept taffeta; Miss Phyllis Rikys, ivory marocain; Miss Estelle Snelling, black ring velvet;., Miss Winifred Viscoe. cherry sand crepe. There were also present:—Mrs. J. Morton, in Burgundy sou pie satin; Mrs. George Kent, ivory marocain patterned in rose and green; Mrs. W. J. O'Brien, gold patterned lame; Mrs. H. Duder, leaf-green ring velvet; Mrs. L. J. Crosson, ivory pin-tucked organdie; Mrs. Gordon Nicholson, black satin and sequins; Mrs. R. Cox, daffodil georgette; Mrs. Arthur Cahill, black ring velvet and lace; Mrs. J. Hore, Burgundy souple satin; Mrs. Stanley Weir, pastel pink and blue embroidered organdie; Mrs. M. O'Connor, black cire satin and face; Mrs. H. Vialoux, jade green chiffon and lace; Mrs. Roy Pollard, ivory crepe faille; Mrs. F. Hoffmann, cherry marocain. Miss Gwen Didsbury wore black taffeta and tulle embroidered in silver; Miss Q. Rose, cloth of silver; Miss Ina Wight, deep fuchsia satin; Miss Nancy Keely, black ring velvet; Miss Molly Tyler, black Chantilly lace; Miss E. Cross, black georgette; Miss Madge Edwards, old gold velvet; Miss Joyce Millar, pastel pink windswept satin: Miss Dolly Chapman, flame brocaded satin and gold lame; Miss Edna Ponsford, silver grey satin; Miss Shirley Law, ivory and gold embroidered marocain; Miss Margaret Miller, black marocain and gold lame; Miss Vera Blackwell, cherry pebble crepe; Miss Winsome Whitehead, blue and pastel pink frilled georgette; Miss Joy Smith, lacquer red satin; Miss lone Chesney, floral marocain; Miss Betty Fulton, black frilled taffeta; Miss Nan Penman, pink pebble crepe; Miss Betty Griffiths, blue and white patterned silk pique; Miss H.
