PIGEON FLYING RACE
TE KUITI TO HIKURANGI [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI. Thursday The Hikurangi Homing Pigeon Club held an old birds' race from Te Kuiti, 77 birds taking part. The birds were liberated in fine weather and, although the wind was against them most of the* way, they registered good times. The following are; the results: —Mr. R. Langlands' Rin Tin. 1183 yds per nun. 1; Mr. E. Gilbey's Young Seagull, 1182 yds per min, 2: Mr. R Laurie's Woro Lassie. 1181 yds pea min. 3. ■ The leaders in points t.o date are:—Yearlings. Mr. G. Davies, 29 points; Mr. R. Langlands. 27 points; Mr. R. Laurie. 23 points. Old birds: Mr. E. Gilbey, 26 points: Mr. R. Langlands, 26 points; Mr. R. Laurie. 23 points.
