The president, Mr. A. Sohlaepfer, presided ! It was stated in the report that, tho club s two courts had been resurfaced, and tho finances were in a. good position. It iw.as decided to enter two teams in the Franklin association's competitions.
WAIKATO ASSOCIATION INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP [from our own* correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday A year of progress was reviewed at the annual meeting of the Waikato Lawn Tennis Association in Hamilton. There was a. good attendance of delegates from most of the affiliated sub-associations. Tha president, Mr. W. G. Fabling, presided. The annual report; stated that practically the whole of the area .controlled by the association was' now divided into sub-asso-ciations, which now numbered «even. Membership had increased, t'o 2175, _ which was 195 above the total for the previous year. ; The election of officer# ;Te»ultedPatron. Mr. S. B. Sims (Hamilton); president, Mr. A, C. Thompson (Otorohanga); vice-presi-dents, Messrs, W. Cj.,Fabling (Hamilton) and Simpson (Cambridge); delegatqs to'the' New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. Professor F. P. Wilson (Wellington), and Messrs. Eichelbaum (Wellington)', McCarroll (Wellington), and D. Seymour (Hamilton) ; management* committee, Messrs, V. C. Hollis (Cambridge); D. B. Livingston .(Tuhikaramea). E. R. Matuschka (Ruku* hia), H. G. Keeley (Matamata), D. Seymour (.Hamilton), N. W. Bryant (Morrinsville), and P. Rogers (Hamilton) ; secretarytreasurer, Mr. E. A. Cox (Hamilton). Eulogistic reference was made to the service rendered by Mr. W. G. Filling .in the interests of tennis over a long period of years. In recognition of bis work, Mr. Fabling whb unanimously elected the first life-member of the association.
