LOSS SHOWN FOR YEAR [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] - /■ OPOTIKI, Thursday There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of tho Opotiki Jockey Club, the president, Mr. A. Young, presiding. The president'? report stated that the club had a fairly successful race meeting, considering the times, although the year's operations showed a loss of £65. The president commented strongly on the taxation of racing which was ohiefly to blame for losses shown by country clubs particularly. _ The election of officers resulted Patron, Mr. K. S. Williams..
