BUSINESS MEN'S DEBATE

That the capitalistic system at present operating in New Zealand offers no purpose in life for youth was the subject debated at a social evening organised by the junior division of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce in the Overseas Club's rooms last night. The winners were Mr. G. Jackson and Mr. H. T. Merritt, representing the senior division of the chamber, who took the negative, and they were opnosed by Mr. R. Angus and Mr. H. Beech, of the junior chamber. Mr. E. Aldridge was the judge. Among the visitors were Bishop Listoti. the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, and the president of the chamber, Mr. A. G. Lunn. A varied programme was presented during the evening.
