REPRESENTATIVE MATCH AUCKLAND TO PLAY THAMES CONTEST AT EDEN PARK Tho annual Rugby representative (natch between Auckland and Thames will be played at Eden Park to-morrow, when a fast and even contest is anticipated. Thames is the oldest representative fixturo played by Auckland, and in the days when Thames was a thriving goldinining centi'e its representatives proved too good for Auckland. In later years Thames has had representatives in the Auckland fifteen who have acquitted themselves well. In spite of the fact that the Auckland team is on tour, a strong side has been chosen from the remaining players, several of whom are just bordering on selection for the first team. Thames is reported to have a good forward team, while tho backs are quick at taking advantage of mistakes and throw tho ball about well. The curtain-raiser will be the final of tho intermediate A section of the Auckland Rugby Union's competition between Grammar Old Boys and Suburbs. Auckland will play the Wellington representatives to-morrow, and, as it will probably have tho services of its five All Blacks, ifi expected to have a good chance of success. Wellington has not performed so well as usual this seuson in its fixtures. C. Scarborough", the Grammar Old Boys forward, was unable to travel with the Auckland team, and was replaced by H. Bond, Ponsonby. A special train for enthusiasts wishing to see the match will leave Auckland at 7.35 o'clock this evening and will return from Wellington at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Auckland will play Poverty Bay at Gisborne next Wednesday and Hawke's Bay for the Ranfurly Shield at Napier 'to-mor-row week.
