Mr. S. Cory Wright left for Wellington by the limited express last evening. !Flving-Officer H. J. L. Hawkins, R.A.F., arrived at Wellington by the Rangitata on Wednesday on a visit to friends in New Zealand. Mr. A. W. Christmas, vice-president olf the New Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association, who lias been attending the conference of the association in Wellington, will return to A uckland this morning. The Rev. L. McMaster, who has been minister in charge of St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, Woolston, for the past eight years, is expected to arrive in Auckland to-morrow to take ch of the Onehunga Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Arthur S. Bean, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bean, of Christchurch, who was recently appointed a Canon Residentiary of Manchester Cathedral, has now been appointed Archdeacon of Manchester, and will bo installed in both offices on September 20. ,• Mr. E. 0. Shield, of Wellington, who has been awarded the first Bishop Hadfield theological scholarship, will leave for England by the Rangitane to-day. The scholarship is tenable at Queen's College, Oxford, for theological study jjj preparation for ordination to the •ministry of the Church of England, and Mr. Shield will be absent from New Zealand for at least two years.
